We Saved The Big One!

To follow up on my story “Endangered Species”. I just received an email from DJ Trickster one of the organizers of the indie/shoegazer night “We Fought The Big One” about the turn-out for what had been threatened to be the last of their amazing monthly nights.

Here is what Trickster had to say:

“Just got off the phone with Mark Peters, the owner of the Marx Cafe — Mark was very happy with the turnout last Friday and has agreed to continue hosting “We Fought the Big One!!!”

So it appears the people of Mt. Pleasant have more than just Salsa on the brain after all. Or maybe my friend’s night being saved is an example of the power of Metroblogging DC’s ability to get the word out. Either way, I’m glad this night has got a new lease on life. These guys play great music every month.

A big thank you to everyone who went out and supported them.

Let’s all meet-up and celebrate at the next one on September 2nd!
