Got the post-election blues? Or maybe you’re looking to swing from a chandelier to celebrate. Either way, if you are looking for some fist pumping, foot stomping entertainment to blast that political stress right out of you, there are two great options on tomorrow night. The best bands in totalitarian Industrial dance music are coming to the District to herald in a new age of Bushwhacking.
At Nation, in addition to the usual Thursday night Goth/Industrial dance party, visits Laibach. These guys are classic para-military psuedo-fascist electro-percussionist straight out of 80’s Slovenia. This is the first time they’ve played in the US in ten years. Their shows are known for impressive stage theatrics and soul punching beats.
If that’s not your cup of jackboots, then you’ve got KMFDM playing over at the 930 Club tomorrow night as part of their 20th Anniversary tour. These guys are one of industrial-dance music’s big guns, perfecting the ultra-heavy beat which makes for some damn fine rug cutting when the mood takes you. This tour will feature plenty of their political dance hits such as “Sex on the Flag” and “A Drug Against War”.
Either show is a fine choice for indulging in some post-election debauchery. I’m tickled pink that they are happening right in Dubya’s own backyard.
